Adoption – God’s Point of View

God has called us to adopt a little one in need of a forever family.  We started down the path He set into motion for us.  We have fallen in love with this unborn child and have been praying for baby and mom daily.  We have looked forward to giving this little one a home that is filled with love and the joy and stability of a Christian family that understands this little life is precious and so full of potential.
 
Then two days before Christmas we learn the birth mom has changed her mind and chosen to keep the baby.  We were heartbroken and devastated to learn our precious child will not be coming home to live with us after all.  Today the thought hit me (more…)

Tangle or Knot?

As I was dealing with the chaos of the weekend God gave me this beautiful object lesson.

If you look very closely at a knot of embroidery thread on a piece of fabric it looks like just a jumbled up tangle of threads.  Not at all pretty in itself.  Life can look like that at times too.  We see struggles as a tangled up mess that we need to fix rather than wait on God to show us what to do with it.  Sometimes that messy tangle can be a tiny little knot that God put there. Something strong and binding that was put there on purpose for a special reason.

Intersection Opportunity

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share with you about the intersection God put me in last night. :) I was driving home from my small group, and Scott had asked us to think about our weeks and how we might find ourselves in intersections. I have to admit I am a frequent flyer at Walmart. I am in there an embarassing number of times a week. :) But what a place to meet random people and strike up conversations. Like…. Dale the door greeter.

While I was driving back to Mattoon though, I was asking God to just plop people right in my face. People that needed to hear about Him.

Dale needed to hear about Him I guess. I striked up my usual banter with the door greeter “Hey! How are you! Sure is nice out tonight. What time you get off? Whew! Only 2 more hours!! Welp, see you later!” and went about my shopping.
